Display .NEF Files with Lightroom Changes??

I've been using ESS for years. Works great displaying all of my raw .NEF files as a screensaver. But I wish there was a way for it to display any edits I've made in Lightroom. ESS will only display the image "as taken", and not with any edits.

I know that LR edits are stored in a sidecar file and changes aren't made to the .NEF image itself. But does anyone know a way to get ESS to display it?? And I don't mean converting the edited .NEF file to a .JPG or something else!

I don't think there is a way to do it in Endless Slideshow Screensaver.
