EI Future Request
is there a possibility to get a portable version and a backup function for the projects?

I don't think there will be a portable version any time soon.
As for the projects backup - it can be done very easily. You simply need to backup the content of the Extreme Picture Finder [ Data folder ]. All projects, searches and templates are saved inside that folder. You can see the location of that folder in Extreme Picture Finder, [ Advanced ] tab:
