Downloading pages using query string

Post by LionArt » 07 Mar 2009, 15:07

Hello,
I have some problems saving pages using query string.
I have the following link : http://saaid.net/book/list.php?cat=96
The file to save have an address likewise : http://saaid.net/book/open.php?cat=96&book=4229
I checked "use query string for file name"
In "use value of the following parameter" : book
And change file extension to .html
But it does not work. Have I missed something ? Have I to add other configuration to the project ?
Thank you very much.

Hello,

I just created a new project in Extreme Picture Finder using your starting address and it saved 33 files (I told the program to save files only from current page). Here is the screenshot.

Image

I used the following project settings:

Starting address: http://saaid.net/book/list.php?cat=96
Target files: open.php
Site exploration: Regular site, Current page only
Naming: Use query string for file name, Use value of the following parameter: book, Change the file extension to: html

All other settings - default.

Please try it. If you will have any problems then I'll send you a ready-to-use Extreme Picture Finder project file.

Thank you very much, in target files wrote "*open*". That was mistake. And now it works fine.

I'm having a similar problem. The program is finding all the files I want, but I can't get it to name them correctly. I think my project goal is maybe not possible without a new option under naming. ?

Goal
Take this product page:
http://nepalishop.com/ins371.html

Clicking on the product image takes you to:
http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/ ... _179489575

I want the image (which is a jpeg I think?) yhst-40343108707036_2049_179489575

saved and named:
ins371.jpg

I think I need an option that uses parent page URL, instead of title.
or is there a way to do it with the existing options?

I tried many image download programs and this one is the only one that came close to easily doing this extraction. Thanks!
James

Yes, you are right. Your goal will require adding another option that will allow to use parent page file name for target file name to the Naming tab. We'll do it. Thank you for pointing it out.

Great!
I like it when I'm right! :)
I would love to use this this week! As soon as you have a new version compiled, send it to me to test and I will register! Thanks so much!
