Hello everyone, I bought the lifetime version yesterday because I've had very good experiences with Extreme Picture Finder.
But I switched to Linux a while ago.
So far no problem, I got the software to work well under Linux. With one exception. I can't add a template to the software by double-clicking. The stupid thing is that I can't use any templates this way.
Is there another way to add the templates, for example by copying them into a specific subdirectory? I tried the main directory without success. I also created a subfolder "templates" (it didn't exist) and copied the template into it. But that doesn't work either. Windows is an operating system that is not viable for me, so I have to stick with Linux. It runs well under Linux, I just can't integrate the templates.
Best regards, Mr Fox

Yes, you can simply copy the template files into the [ Templates ] sub-folder of the Extreme Picture Finder's [ Data folder ]. Double-clicking does exactly that and then starts the software. The location of the [ Data folder ] is shown in the Extreme Picture Finder settings, [ Advanced ] tab:

Thank you very much for your quick reply!
Unfortunately, the template is still not recognized.
I think that must be a Linux-specific problem.
That's sad. Then I'll have to do without the downloads.
But thank you for your help!

Do you see the built-in generic templates in the program? Also, do you see them inside the Templates sub-folder?

I can see the generic templates within the program. But there was no subfolder called "Templates" in the installation directory. I created one myself and put the template in there. I also tried using small spelling (templates). Unfortunately, both were unsuccessful. But it's not the software's fault; it worked perfectly under Windows at the time.

Why are you looking for it in the installation folder?! Please read carefully my previous message. It's in the "Data folder", not in the instllation folder! By default the folder is:
C:\Program Data\Extreme Picture Finder

Thank you so much, it was my mistake!
I didn't know there was a second folder.
I misunderstood.
It works now.
Thank you!
