Something changed with Flickr

Post by Mox55 »

I have been away for a while and I updated both EPF and all Flickr templates before starting downloading from Flickr. It seems that the behavior with downloading a Flickr album has changed. If the album contains many pics I must scroll down in the built-in browser to the end of the album in order to get all photos downloaded. I think earlier, with EPF version V3.66.2 together with template version 14, that was not needed. Not at all a big problem, easy to go around but surprised me.

Hmm. Interesting. I just checked both album and photostream templates and all I had to do to get all the photos was just to sign in to my flickr account. What is the URL that gave you this "surprise"?

I'm sorry about the delay in my answering. I was on the road for few days.
One of the starting addresses having this behavior is
https://www.flickr.com/photos/58842179@ ... 295676813/

Well, this album has only 53 photos and Extreme Picture Finder downloaded all of them without the scrolling:

Did you sign in to your Flickr account in the built-in browser before clicking the [ Continue download ] button?

Yes, I was logged in before clicking "Continue download" button. Maybe we have different project definition. How could I send my project definition to you?

If you create a new project from the template - we will have the exact same projects. Do not change anything in the project settings at all.

Thanks for your quick response. But I’m now on the road and I do the test when I’m back home.

Now I executed a test with a new project where I changed only the destination folder. And now all 53 photos got downloaded without any album scrolling. Previously I used project cloning, maybe it was causing the ’surprise’ by inheriting an inappropriate setting.

So EPF is working fine, many thanks.

If you have a template from the online templates database - do not clone your projects. Keep you templates up to date and create new projects from the templates. When you clone a project - you use all the settings from the cloned project. And those may be irrelevant. And if you are using the most recent version of the template - you have all the fresh settings.
