Using individual tracks provides more flexibility than folders/sub-folders. You can arrange tracks in a list the way you want - something you cannot do if you operate on a folder level. The same will be with the pictures in Endless Slideshow Screensaver 2.x: there will be a list of picture/video files rather than folders.
