WallpapersCraft.com

Post by coric » 14 Sep 2014, 03:17

Is there any way to download JPG wallpaper files from wallpaperscraft.com using this application?

e.g. starting address http://wallpaperscraft.com/tag/trees/2560x1080/page1

...and download only items tagged with "trees"?

I've been messing with this for an hour and a half.

Here are the settings that work:

1. Generate a list of starting addresses for every page:

http://wallpaperscraft.com/tag/trees/2560x1080/page1
....
http://wallpaperscraft.com/tag/trees/2560x1080/page41

2. Target files:
*.jp*
3. Site exploration -> Regular site: Follow all links. [Limit exploration depth] to [2].
4. Filters -> Excluded URLs:
.*
5. Filters -> Included URLs:
/download/
/image/

That's it. Please try it. If something goes wrong - just write here and I'll create a ready-to-use EPF project for you.

Well, I added this project to the built-in online project database, so you're welcome to download and use it. The category is "Desktop Wallpapers -> Nature".

Thank you very much. I ran the "WallpapersCraft.com - Trees" project from the online database, but the only files saved were the thumbnails.

I messed around with the project properties, but I could not get it to work. The files linked to do not have URLs ending in .JPG. I'm not sure if this is part of the problem:

Sorry, my bad. Please re-download the project from the database (delete the one you already downloaded).

Thank you! This seemed to work... But after watching it for awhile, I'm not sure... It's exploring lots of unrelated URLs and has not downloaded anything in several minutes.

Also, all downloaded files are saved with the core name 2560x1080.jpg. This particular tag (trees) does not currently have more than 1,000 files, but some others do. I have changed the renaming options.

Thank you! I will be buying a lifetime license shortly.

I bought the license. I also figured out a better way to get images from this site. I had to set up 2 new custom parsers. This site really seems to jealously guard its files. Which is idiotic, since the files no doubt came from other sites to begin with, and also because I would have much preferred to pay them for bulk goddamned downloads.

I decided not to share my project settings, for fear that if these over-protective nitwits see several people grabbing files en masse, they'll go even more over-the-top with their protections.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, usually it's not a problem for Extreme Picture Finder to grab ALL files from a website. The challenge usually is to grab only the files you want and skip the rest of the website. That's why I often go with the "exclude everything and include only necessary URLs" settings.

And, of course, I'm glad you put Extreme Picture Finder to a good use. Not many people out there can handle Custom Parsers.
