Feature Request: Let animated Gifs animate

Would it be possible, if an animated gif cycles through the screensaver, for that gif to animate while it is on the screen? It could animate for as long as the time set for a picture to show, but ideally, might it be possible that there be a separate animate gif time setting overriding the time setting for the other images that allows for the animation to complete a specific number of times before advancing to the next picture? Thanks!

Wow, that would be great! I do not think I have seen any other photo screensaver that can do this.

Yeah, turned out not that easy to implement. Not just GIFs, but GIFs with all user-defined overlay text messages... Will be in 2.x most likely, not in this implementation.
