Newb question

Post by Iluvatar » 08 Oct 2014, 19:32

Hi,
I am a newbie, so, sorry, if this is basic, but I can't get the EPF to download pics :(
I want to download a thread from the forum http://celebforum.to/
A starting address would be
http://celebforum.to/events-websites-an ... oy-12.html for example.
One example is a link to this page (a thumbnail is displayed):
http://img156.imagevenue.com/img.php?im ... _150lo.jpg
containing this pic:
http://img156.imagevenue.com/aAfkjfp01f ... _150lo.jpg <-- This is what I want :)
There are maybe other imagehosters in the thread, this is just an example...

Any Ideas of how the settings have to be set?
Thank you!

One way of doing it is using "Follow all links" option in the [ Site Exploration -> Regular site ], excluding all addresses by adding

.*

to the Filters -> Excluded URLs

and then including only those you need in the Filters -> Included URLs.
First of all - you'll need all thread pages. The thread ID as an included URL will do just fine:

2633-playboy

Then you need to include all possible image sources. For imagevanue the filter is:

img\d+\.imagevenue

Basically that's it.

Another good way which does not require any filters at all would be adding every thread page as a starting address (easily done in the built-in URL generator - "Generate..." buuton under the list of starting addresses), using "Follow all links" option in the [ Site Exploration -> Regular site] and limiting the exploration depth to 2.
