While I was re-generating last weekend, my PC, an AMD Phenom II x4 3.4Ghz version w/8gig DDR2 memory died. Not sure if it will help, but I have ordered an ASUS TUF Sabertooth 990FX motherboard, AMD FX-8350 Black Edition 8-Core 4ghz AMD3+ Processor and 16gig of DDR3 memory. Guess I am wondering if having 8 cores over the 4 core will improve the performance of the Generation? I am sure the faster FSB will help some.

1st attempt with the new computer, Regeneration of everything. Auto Columns x 3 rows. Results in mm:ss

Step 1 of 5: ? too fast
Step 2 of 5: 22:27 for 22:27
Step 3 of 5: 38:46 for 16:18
Step 4 of 5: ? too fast
Step 5 of 5: 43:41 for 5:05

Result was a single thumbs page.

Making only a structure change to create the generation needed as described previously 6 Columns x 3 rows. Re-generate all gallery pages is the only selection.

Step 1 of 5: n/a
Step 2 of 5: n/a
Step 3 of 5: n/a
Step 4 of 5: n/a
Step 5 of 5: 4:13 total

Result was 72 thumbs pages.
